David Cyprys rearrested following release from prison

Convicted serial paedophile David Cyprys has been re-arrested this morning upon release on parole from a Melbourne prison.
In 2013, Cyprys was convicted for raping and sexually abusing nine boys, and was sentenced for eight years, with a minimum five and a half years non-parole. Cyprys has served almost six years in prison.
He is awaiting extradition to NSW.
Child sexual abuse advocate Manny Waks was one of Cyprys’ nine victims for which he was convicted.
He stated: “When I publicly disclosed my abuse in 2011, around 15 Cyprys victims came forward to police. For various reasons, only 12 victims pursued justice through the courts, and three bravely agreed to drop their charges against Cyprys, as part of his plea deal.
He added: “I welcome today’s re-arrest of David Cyprys.
Many of his victims have been dreading his imminent release, so his re-arrest will no doubt be a somewhat comforting development for them.
I would like to commend this victim for pursuing justice and to encourage anyone else who has been sexually abused by Cyprys to go to the police so that he can be held to full account for his many crimes.”
