Yeshivah Centre Committee of Management letter
11 October 2015
Dear Parents, Yeshivah Community members, Friends and Supporters,
As you are aware, the Yeshivah Centre is currently the subject of a Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse.
At the Yeshivah Centre we are all working hard to properly respond to these issues and ensure that we have the appropriate policies and processes in place to guarantee a safe environment for our children.
As well as appropriate policies, our values and behaviours need to reflect support to those who have been affected by child sexual abuse, both now and in the future. We consider that this includes the behaviour of all those who attend the Yeshivah Centre premises, whether in a formal capacity or otherwise.
We also consider that the behaviours tolerated by the Yeshivah Centre on its premises represent a response of the Centre itself.
Therefore, any deviation from our message of compassion and support, through words or conduct, whether directed towards victims and their families directly or not, is behaviour the Yeshivah Centre does not condone and will not tolerate.
On the contrary. We encourage you all to reiterate honest feelings of compassion and support for the victims and their families throughout the moised and broader community.
Sincerely,
Yeshivah Centre Committee of Management
Leah Balter Craig Goldberg
Yechiel Belfer Shmuley Goldberg
Yossi Franck Rafi Goodman
