And during these catch-ups – from a few hours to several days – I have become a de facto, unaccredited Tel Aviv tour-guide! Not quite the traditional guide, I have always tried to share the perspectives and experiences of the locals. The sights, sounds and tastes of Tel Aviv, accompanied by interesting and at times useless anecdotes. Basically, I tried to ensure you experience the local culture, while discussing politics, sports, life, and a whole lot more…
Apparently, based on your unsolicited feedback, you all seemed to really enjoy yourselves…to such an extent, that some of you even suggested I do these tours on a more serious level and become a tour-guide!
A tour-guide I am still not – however, depending on the level of interest, I have decided to dedicate some time to arrange these informal tours for international guests. More chaperone, less guide. This will provide me with the opportunity to work in an area outside my current very challenging field, addressing the issue of child sexual abuse. Besides from the financial benefit (I still don’t get paid for my VoiCSA work), this will also allow me the opportunity to utilise my experience and knowledge, and enjoy a much lighter side of life😎!
My tours will involve plenty of walking, talking, eating and drinking (I don’t guarantee we’ll walk off what we eat/drink!). I offer a full day, half day and night entertainment options. These tours typically involve walking through some of the unique areas in Tel Aviv (e.g. Jaffa, Neve Tzedek, Florentin, Dizingoff/centre, markets, beaches). I’m also able to tailor tours to your specific needs and interests (including outside of Tel Aviv).
If you are looking to see museums, historical sights and other more traditional sight-seeing options, you may need to look elsewhere (although I can try to accommodate some of these options).
Please note that I am not a registered tour-guide or a subject matter expert…I will be your (hopefully entertaining) chaperone, not your tour-guide!
Please feel free to contact me for any enquiries. Individual and group bookings are welcome.
I look forward to spending some time with you on your visit to Israel! And please send this link to someone you know who may be interested...
UPDATE (20 April 2022): After a long hiatus, due mainly to Covid, I'm re-launching this initiative, with a special focus on anyone interested in exploring Tel Aviv on a bicycle (not electric) - all fitness levels will be accommodated!
