“Rabbi” Yeshayahu Rizkhan, who for three years firmly denied the accusations against him that he raped a 17-year-old girl when he told her that he had a dream that she would give birth to twins (additional to his 14 children) and that if she did not do so, she would never be able to marry and a decree of death would hover over her head, and she did as he told her after he taught her the laws of purity and sent her to dip in the sea for him.
Three years have passed since she bravely complained and barely survived the legal process and his denials, while her mental condition deteriorates to the point of loss of all interest in life.
After being sentenced to eight years, he filed an appeal to the Supreme Court this week through Adv. Avigdor Feldman in which the truth came out in the light of the appeal, he confessed to everything but claimed conscious consent on her part when all she wanted was to annul the decree.
And at the same time, he asked to delay the execution of the sentence until the hearing on the appeal.
Supreme Court Justice David Mintz rejected his imaginary request.
He was released to house arrest all these years and celebrated the Passover with his family, while she was already in a medical "prison" and the decree of mental death was being fulfilled, he wanted to continue the release, adding insult to injury and after all the years of denial he falsely claims that she consented to his actions.
He will go to jail, because the Supreme Court has recognized his lack of credibility and its shameful lie, and now there is some relief for her, even though the price she paid is unbearable.
This story should be an example to other offenders. Take responsibility, tell the truth in time, and refrain from increasing the damage to yourself and to those you hurt.
We thank attorney Ilanit Ne'eman, our dear volunteer, who stood by her with sensitivity and determination throughout this difficult time and will continue to be there until the appeal is rejected.
